“Where Growzie Came From — and Where It’s Going”

Like many of you, I spent the early days of the pandemic closer to home — fixing things, slowing down, and taking stock. And during that time, something small but powerful kept happening: my clients began offering me the overflow from their gardens.

“Would you like some tomatoes?”
“We have more lemons than we can possibly use.”
“There’s a zucchini explosion in the backyard — want one?”

These were generous gestures, rooted in kindness. But they pointed to something bigger: people want to share. They just don’t always know how — or who might need what they have.

As someone who’s spent over 27 years in the homes, kitchens, and backyards of my neighbors, I’ve seen firsthand the power of community. And I’ve long felt that our neighborhoods — our hyperlocal connections — could be the answer to some of today’s most disconnected problems.

That’s how Growzie began.

Growzie isn’t just an app. It’s a living, evolving platform where neighbors can:

  • Share extra produce from their gardens

  • Connect around wellness, recipes, and simple healthy ideas

  • Trade with others — not just things, but knowledge and encouragement

It’s part community, part inspiration, and all rooted in the organic connections we’ve always had — just waiting to grow.

Right now, I’m in the early stages of building this — with the help of friends, clients, and anyone willing to lend their experience or advice. If you’re one of those people, or just curious, I’d love for you to follow along.

We’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes updates, ideas, and maybe even some garden-inspired wisdom along the way.

Thanks for being here.
